Growing Up

There have been lots of firsts and big girl and big boy happenings over the past few days. Wednesday night we said goodbye to our well loved high chairs and traded them in for nice green booster seats! They were an instant hit with both Maggie and Hampton and I have to say it has made cleanup a lot easier for me too!

On Friday Maggie and Hampton both "put their pee pee in the potty" after I asked if they would try! The biggest shocker came on Saturday when Maggie ran to me wearing nothing but a shirt and a smile and said "Mommy, I poop in the potty!" I followed her to the bathroom and she had taken off her pants and diaper and "put her pee pee in the potty" all by herself! Needless to say I was one proud Momma! Both babies wore pull ups for the rest of the day on Saturday, but there was no other potty news to report! Today (Sunday) Maggie told me twice that she needed to use the potty and both times she was right! I think my girl is really getting this! Hampton on the other hand is very motivated by the "M" they have been receiving just for trying. I think I'm going to have to rethink my strategy because he wants to sit on the potty for a second and then have his "M"! An "M" is one M&M...just in case you were wondering!

The other first we experienced was not quite so joyous. We were awakened by Hampton's pitiful cries in the wee hours of the morning. When I went to check on him I found that he had vomited. After vomiting once more, one diaper full of...I'll leave that one up to your imagination, one linen change, 3 pairs of pajamas and lots of love from Mommy, Daddy and Sissy the little man was back to bed. Thankfully he woke up around 9am and was back to his old self! I'm not sure what brought it on, but I'm so happy it left quickly and did not claim any other casualties!

It's about time!

I have wanted to start blogging for quite a while...make that since I found out I was pregnant in October 2007! Better late than never I suppose! I do hope to include highlights and photos of my pregnancy, Maggie and Hampton's birth and our lives over the past couple of years.
